HUNTER’S NEIGHBORHOOD SPOTLIGHT: THE PARK AT WRIGLEY
3637 N. Clark St.
Chicago, IL 60613
Chicagoans know and love Wrigley Field, but not everyone knows about the Park at Wrigley, the newly revamped open-air public space that opened during the 2017 baseball season. Easily accessible via public transportation (Addison Red line stop, #22 Clark St. bus, or #152 Addison bus), this new space at Wrigley Field has become the north side’s newest family holiday destination.
For the duration of the holiday season, the Park at Wrigley is host to two ongoing family-friendly attractions. The first—Christkindlmarket at the Park—is an additional location of one of Chicago’s most treasured and historic holiday events. Offering all the beloved treats of the downtown location (think Glühwein, toasted nuts, and specialty chocolates) and showcasing numerous local and international vendors, families can enjoy holiday treats while strolling the market for unique, handmade gifts. Embedded within the Christkindlmarket is the Park’s second attraction—the Rink at the Park. Children and adults can skate among market-goers with picturesque Wrigley Field as the backdrop.
Other events at the Park this season include visits with Santa, a wreath-making event, and a special Hanukkah menorah lighting and concert. During warm weather months, the Park is home to special events, kid-friendly concerts, and more.
